Background and Interests
As a political science major and gender studies minor in undergrad, I developed a strong interest in sociology as well.
This background fuels my desire to teach with an interdisciplinary mindset, while also grounding students in best practices of sociology.
As such, I have taught four different cross-listed courses, The Labor Force and Social Interaction which are cross-listed with UNC’s Management and Society program, and Sex and Gender in Society and Race, Class, and Gender, both cross-listed with the Women’s and Gender Studies department.
A passionate teacher, I enjoy developing new courses, and hope to in the future continue to do so. So far I have taught six different courses, and have enjoyed crafting syllabi that reflect my teaching values and include an interesting, relevant, and accessible collection of readings.
